Hey Gang,
OK, I'm going to need to chime in here on this matter...
Sandfly posted: "Chris himself, on occasion, has proclaimed the all-in-one mantra... so I'm assuming it's part of his strategy... I assume, to contrast the frustrating habit GW has of splitting, to the n-th degree, all their previous publications."
The idea that we have proclaimed an all-in-one concept on WarGods -- that is something some folks have misconstrued since the beginning. We announced and advertised the WarGods book as containing a "complete games system -- everything you need to play the game." Some people have taken this to mean that we never intend to release further supplements to WarGods, and told a lot of people this early on. What I meant, and I've clarified this on the Forum before, is that WarGods is "complete" in the sense that it has all the rules & background you need to play the game -- there is no absence of a campaign system, or magic system, or real army-building potential. Take a look at any of the other 'big' miniature games out there, and you'll see what I mean -- they all have something missing that is necessary to really play the game.
WarGods has it all, in one book. But there will be more.
Once we have finished sculpting all of the core races and Specialists in WarGods of Aegyptus (only the Typhon left to go), we'll be proceeding ahead with other supplements, as well as with Olympus. The alternative (not releasing supplements for Aegyptus) would mean that the Aegyptus part of the game world would die a very quick death on game store shelves across the world. I don't think anyone wants that to happen.
Myself and the rest of the WarGods creative team have a lot more to tell about Aegyptus, the Anubi, the Basti, etc. The material that we publish in Harbinger is just a taste of what we have planned for the future. There will be new Specialists, new elite units, expanded backgrounds & histories, unique characters from the histories, new rules, and lots more. And it is all going to be very, very cool.
I hope this clears things up.
