[En Anglais] :
Okay the fifth and final issue of Urban War Magazine will be out this month.
It's been delayed for a couple of reasons.
First there is a shed load of new troops in it.
Not only do we have completely new VASA and Junker armies, we also have new Snipers and rocket launchers for VASA, Prosthenes and Androsynth Plasma gunners for Syntha and Viridian HGR specialists.
There are also Tournament rules too not to mention cool fiction and background from Bill Ward.
Secondly we have been involved in producing the new 300 series sets and Urban War Gamebox. Not essential for you hard-core guys but vital for our retailers and strategic partners overseas.
One of the problems with the Urban War line as it stood was that it was entirely of blisters, now that kept is nice and accessible to get into to but it was a nightmare for stores who are trying to stock it but didn't have any game knowledge. Further over half the wargames stores throughout the world either don't have blisters space or have a very limited space to put them. Therefore we have developed this range of boxed sets in order to develop our channel strategy to get our game in front of more players.
As you can well imagine this is an essential step for the development of the game system. Okay, yes Urban War issue 4 will be the last in the magazine format.
This is essentially in response to comments not only from players, who find having to reference several magazines to find rules a bit of a problem, but also from stores who would rather see all the rules etc in one book.
The magazine format while ideal to start with is now proving a problem, therefore this issue will be the last.
The compendium will include all the rules and army lists. These will be edited for any errata that cropped up in the mags. It will only have a limited amount of fiction and no articles so the magazines will still have some added value.
Urban War is not finishing, quite the opposite. We release miniatures on a monthly basis for the line and have at least 6 month's worth of releases to get out once the new mag hits the streets. We will be starting a tournament roll out in the UK, which will be duplicated by our overseas partners too. There will be more exclusive figure available too, a new Sniper character will be available from the start of next year.
For the future development of Urban War we will release supplements, similar to what other manufacturers do.
The first one planned is a book of characters and heroes that will also include experienced based character generation and a campaign system. This is planned for October next year.
We also plan to release a counters set next month.
Plastic Templates are in development with Gale Force 9.
Further we will print stat cards early next year on the same lines as Juan's online downloadable ones. The big battle game, now called Urban War: Metropolis will be out next March. You can use all your existing Urban War minis for this. We will release a bunch of squad-boxed sets from March onwards.
